Miracles of Jesus

Jesus performed many miracles during his lifetime.
1.                  Examples of Jesus’ miracles in the Bible

(Mat 9:35 NIV)  Jesus went through all the towns and villages, teaching in their synagogues, preaching the good news of the kingdom and healing every disease and sickness.

Turned water into wine (John 2:1-11)

Healed a nobleman’s son (John 4:46-54)

Cleansed a leper (Matt 8:1-4)

Raised a widow’s son from the dead (Luke 7:11-17)

Fed five thousand people (Matt 14:15-21)

In fact, there are at least 38 recorded miracles of Jesus in the New Testament.

2.                  New testament records of the life of Jesus is more accurate than the hadiths record of Muhammad’s life

Unlike the records in the hadiths, the New Testament can be shown to be a reliable historical record.

3.                  Even the Quran teaches that Jesus performed miracles

002.087 YUSUFALI: We gave Moses the Book and followed him up with a succession of messengers; We gave Jesus the son of Mary Clear (Signs) and strengthened him with the holy spirit. (Also, 253; 5:110)

The quran mentions several miracles performed by Him. As a matter of fact, it teaches us that Jesus Christ performed some of these miracles even from His cradle. For example, when He was yet a new-born babe, He spoke to the Jews, who intended to accuse His mother, and prophesied about His future mission:

And she made a sign to them (pointing toward the babe). They said, “How shall we speak with him who is in the cradle; an infant?” It said, “Verily I am the servant of God: He hath given me the Book, and He hath made me a prophet, and He hath made me blessed wherever I may be, and hath enjoined me prayer and almsgiving so long as I shall live, and to be dutiful to her that bore me: and hath not made me proud, depraved. And the peace of God was on the day I was born, and will be on the day I shall die, and the day I shall be raised to life.” (Sura 19:29-34)

“Now have I come to you with a sign from your Lord: out of clay will I make for you, as it were, the figure of a bird; and I will breathe into it and it shall become by God’s leave, a bird. And I will heal the blind and the leper; and by God’s leave will I quicken the dead and I will tell you what ye eat, and what ye store up in your houses. Truly, in this will be a sign to you, if ye are believers.” 3 : 43.
