God will be our intercessor (Islam)

YUSUFALI: Leave alone those who take their religion to be mere play and amusement, and are deceived by the life of this world. But proclaim (to them) this (truth): that every soul delivers itself to ruin by its own acts: it will find for itself no protector or intercessor except Allah: if it offered every ransom, (or reparation), none will be accepted: such is (the end of) those who deliver themselves to ruin by their own acts: they will have for drink (only) boiling water, and for punishment, one most grievous: for they persisted in rejecting Allah.

There is no sacrifice we can give that is sufficient for God.

Only God can be our intercessor. What is the role of this intercessor? It is one who stands in the gap on behalf of man and pleads to God.

Interestingly the Quran also says that the one who performs this role and stands in the gap of man and God is God.

The Bible is saying the same thing when it says that Jesus is the one who intercedes on our behalf on the basis of His atoning work on the cross.

(1 John 2:1-2 NIV)  My dear children, I write this to you so that you will not sin. But if anybody does sin, we have one who speaks to the Father in our defense–Jesus Christ, the Righteous One. {2} He is the atoning sacrifice for our sins, and not only for ours but also for the sins of the whole world.

(Heb 7:25-28 NIV)  Therefore he is able to save completely those who come to God through him, because he always lives to intercede for them. {26} Such a high priest meets our need–one who is holy, blameless, pure, set apart from sinners, exalted above the heavens. {27} Unlike the other high priests, he does not need to offer sacrifices day after day, first for his own sins, and then for the sins of the people. He sacrificed for their sins once for all when he offered himself. {28} For the law appoints as high priests men who are weak; but the oath, which came after the law, appointed the Son, who has been made perfect forever.
