Women in Islam

Practices
https://youtu.be/Rfpxz4s_XWo According to Surah 2:282 of the Quran, the testimony of a woman is worth half the testimony of a man. Muhammad explains why in Sahih Bukhari 2658 The prophet said “Isn't the witness of a woman equal to half of that of a man?”. The woman said “Yes”. He said “This is because of the deficiency of her mind.” The testimony of women is unreliable because women are stupid. Muhammad also claims that women are morally deficient. In Sahil Bukhari 1052 Muhammad says that most of the people in hell are women. He tells us why in Sahih Muslim 142. “O womenfolk, you should give charity and ask much forgiveness for I saw you in bulk amongst the dwellers of hell.” A wise lady among them said “Why is…

A Comparison of Violence in the Bible & the Koran

Practices
https://youtu.be/JzU7MoVp4lc Recently there was a study done in which a statistical analysis was made of Quran and the Old Testament and the New Testament which made claims that the Bible was more violent than the Quran. This struck me as a bit odd because my analysis shows just the opposite.  I define violence as political physical violence i.e. when Cain kills Abel, this to me is not political violence because what I'm interested in is in the Old Testament, how Jews kill non-Jews and in the New Testament how Christians are ordered to kill non-Christians, just as when I measure violence in the Quran, the sunnah and the hadith, I'm interested in political violence. And the other thing is I'm interested in actual violence. You would need to do more…

Compulsion in religion

Compulsion in religion

Practices
Persecution of non-believers seems to be prescribed to pressure them to convert. Surah 9:29. Fight those who believe not in Allah nor the Last Day, nor hold that forbidden which hath been forbidden by Allah and His Messenger, nor acknowledge the religion of Truth, (even if they are) of the People of the Book, until they pay the Jizya (special tax) with willing submission, and feel themselves subdued. Sahih Muslim Book 1, Number 0032: Narrated Jabir ibn Abdullah: Allah’s Apostle (peace_be_upon_him) said: I have been commanded that I should fight against people till they declare that there is no god but Allah, and when they profess it that there is no god but Allah, their blood and riches are guaranteed protection on my behalf except where it is justified by…

Revenge in Islam

Practices
Although the Quran encourages you to forgive your enemies, it is all right to execute revenge. 016.126PICKTHAL: If ye punish, then punish with the like of that wherewith ye were afflicted. But if ye endure patiently, verily it is better for the patient. 002.194PICKTHAL: The forbidden month for the forbidden month, and forbidden things in retaliation. And one who attacketh you, attack him in like manner as he attacked you. Observe your duty to Allah, and know that Allah is with those who ward off (evil). The Bible teaches very different with regards to revenge. We are to leave justice to the courts of law and to God. Personal revenge is strictly not allowed. (Lev 19:18 NIV)  “‘Do not seek revenge or bear a grudge against one of your people,…

Conversation pointer: Have you or your family members gone to Hajj? Do you plan to go the Hajj? What does the Hajj accomplish? Is it true that Islam allows a person to perform the Hajj on behalf of someone else? Hajj cannot be accomplished by most people Every Muslim is obliged to do it. Yet this requirement cannot be met due to the constraints of Mecca. Hajj by proxy Muslims cannot understand why Christians believe that Jesus died to pay for the penalty of our sins. Delcaration of Faith (Shahadah)

Delcaration of Faith (Shahadah)

Practices
Shahadah is a declaration of faith and trust that professes that there is only one God (Allah) and that Muhammad is God’s messenger. This is normally recited in Arabic: ‘La ‘ilea-ha ‘IL-all-laa-hu mu-ham-ma-door Ra-soo-lul-laah “I bear witness that there is none worthy of worship except God and Muhammad is His Servant and Messenger.” Reciting this statement in the presence of two witnesses seals the fact that you are a Muslim and there may be penalties in some countries if you want to leave the faith.
